It turns out that America’s image of the “Wild West” owes a lot to Dental School alumni. As much as anyone, 1896 alumnus Pearl Zane Gray—later Zane Grey—wrote the myth. Plus: 1872 graduate John Henry Holliday—better known as “Doc”—lived it.

In 1994—30 years after he graduated from Penn as an anthropology major—Jeremy Sabloff returned to campus to run the University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
