Dr. Scott Ward, emeritus professor of marketing,pled guilty in February to charges of producing child pornography for importation into the United States. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 11; the charge carries a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30.
Ward was arrested in August at Dulles International Airport after customs agents discovered child pornography on his computer [“Gazetteer,” Nov|Dec]. A search of Ward’s Huntsman Hall office also turned up DVDs containing movies of Ward engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor boy. After the arrest, President Amy Gutmann announced that Ward would no longer teach at Penn.
In addition, Ward still faces charges in a Pennsylvania federal court.
