Student Faces Murder Charges

A Wharton undergraduate has been ordered to stand trial on first-degree murder charges following the fatal bludgeoning on December 23 of a Temple University student who was her ex-boyfriend’s girlfriend, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Daily Pennsylvanian have reported.

According to both newspapers, Irina Malinovskaya is currently being held without bail in Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution while she awaits a trial date. The victim, Irina Zlotnikov, was found dead in the New Castle, Delaware, home of her boyfriend, a Widener University law student.

Phyllis Holtzman, a University spokeswoman, had no comment on the case other than to confirm that Malinovskaya was scheduled to have graduated in December but did not.
