Funded by an anonymous $15 million gift, Wharton announced in May the establishment of Analytics at Wharton, which brings together the School’s analytical teaching, research, and industry engagement initiatives that use big data to improve decision-making and generate actionable business insights. A core area of focus of Wharton’s More than Ever fundraising campaign, the gift created the Data Science and Business Analytics Fund and will also help bring together five existing Wharton programs: Customer Analytics, Penn Wharton Budget Model, People Analytics, Wharton Neuroscience, and Wharton Research Data Services.

“The creation of Analytics at Wharton demonstrated our commitment to using big data to transform how business is done,” Wharton Dean Geoffrey Garrett said.

Analytics at Wharton will be supported by the newly created vice dean for analytics—professor Eric Bradlow W’88, who is also the cofounder of the Wharton Customer Analytics Initiative.
