A highlight of this year’s Penn Relays was the appearance of the world’s fastest man—Jamaica’s Usain Bolt, the three-time Olympic Gold medalist and multiple world-record holder. A capacity crowd of nearly 55,000 in Franklin Field watched Bolt anchor the Jamaican team in a record-setting win in the USA vs. the World men’s 4×100 meter race. Bolt ran his leg of the race in 8.79 seconds, for an overall team time of 37.90 seconds—the fastest ever at the relays or on Franklin Field.
