Penn kept its fourth-place honors in the latest edition of U.S. News & World Report’s national university rankings. Wharton’s undergraduate business program was rated number one. The magazine determines rankings by assigning schools to a group of peer institutions, which then evaluate each school on 15 indicators of academic quality, such as selectivity and average alumni-giving rate. Harvard and Princeton were tied for first place, followed by Yale in third place. Duke trails Penn to round out the top five.
