“Little Ben,” the self-driving car designed by the Ben Franklin Racing Team [“Gazetteer,” July|Aug], finished just out of the money in the DARPA Urban Challenge in November. But it did finish—a feat accomplished by only six of the original 89 competitors. The robotic Toyota Prius navigated 60 miles’ worth of moving obstacles and merging traffic while obeying the rules of the road.
