Dr. M. Josephine Deubler, V’38, Gr’44, assistant professor emeritus of emergency medicine and the first woman graduate of Penn’s School of Veterinary Medicine, has earned yet another distinction during her busy retirement. She was chosen to judge Best in Show at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in February. Deubler has been an AKC-licensed judge since 1962 and has chaired the Bucks County Kennel Club show for 29 years. During her long veterinary career she helped establish Penn’s Canine Symposium and Feline Symposium — events for breeders and owners of dogs and cats. The Veterinary School named the Josephine Deubler Genetic Disease Testing Laboratory in honor of her contributions and awarded her its Centennial and Bellwether medals.
