Commemoration by Candlelight

The 2012 Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service at Penn—which included banner painting for children, literacy and mentoring programs, and a variety of community beautification efforts, among other events—wrapped up with a candlelight vigil that began at WEB DuBois House and ended at the Compass near 37th Street and Locust Walk. The University’s annual commemoration of MLK Day also featured a dialogue with Democratic strategist, author, and commentator Donna Brazile [“Gazetteer,” this issue.]
