Beth Israel Medical Center in November, celebrating his 60 years of service to the hospital, including as chief of medicine for many years. Money raised in his honor benefited the adult and pediatric catheterization laboratories there. A cardiologist, he has lectured at both Penn’s School of Medicine and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Cyd Gold Weissman, C’78, director of education at the Goodblatt Center for Jewish Learning in Penn Valley, Pa., is proud to report that she and her husband of 20 years (this August), are the parents of four sons, Gary (17), Alex (14), Ross (11), and Sam (seven). “I think I was the only woman in my Class who married right after graduation.” She has a master’s degree in Jewish studies, and is currently completing a master’s in instructional systems and design. She also wrote American Designs: The Late Novels of James and Faulkner (1991), co-wrote A Handbook of Critical Approaches to Literature(1993), and Jack London (1994), and co-edited Rereading Jack London (1996). Dr. Reesman serves as executive coordinator of the international Jack London Society and as executive board member of the American Literature Association. Suzanne Pappas Quint, C’89, New York City, married Joe Quint, head of his own advertising and graphics-design company, on August 23. Suzanne is director of subscriptions for Disney Magazine Publishing, which publishes Family Fun, Discover, Disney Adventures, and Disney magazine.
Nate Scott, C/GEd’89, and his wife, Christine, are happy to announce the birth of their second child, Colin Robert, on November 4. Colin joins big brother, Kyle Lowry (two). Nate is supervisor of social studies and world languages at Triton Regional High School in Runnemede, N.J., where Chris teaches English and theater. He is also an assistant coach for Penn’s lightweight football team and is working part-time on his doctorate in education in school administration.
Daphne Tchao, C’89, has joined Rogers & Wells in New York City as an associate attorney in the intellectual-property department, specializing in trademarks. She recently wrote articles on trade dress, changes in Japanese trademark law, and protection of trademarks in Europe.
Dr. Belinda Chan, C’90, e-mails that she and Peter Schott, W’90, are married and live in Santa Monica, Calif. Craig Jacoby, C’90, craig@impactonline.org, e-mails that “after an interminable courtship that had started to worry” their families and friends, he and Jenny Lefcourt, W’91,were married during Labor Day weekend in San Francisco. Craig graduated from Stanford Law School, and from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in 1996. He spent a year clerking for a federal district-court judge in San Francisco and is now an associate at the law firm of Cooley Godward in San Francisco. He is also chair of Impact Online, a non-profit organization that matches volunteers with nonprofits over the Web. Jenny is now a dive master and a student at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford.

Victoria Zinger Rindone, C’90, and Lt. Col. Frank Rindone, G’90, announce the birth of their second child, William Frank, in Bryn Mawr, Pa., on November 5. Bill joins his big sister Sarah, who was born July 7, 1995. The family lives in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where Frank is serving as the U.S. Defense Attache for Bangladesh and Nepal; starting in the summer of 1999, he is to serve in that role to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Vicky added that her Penn roommate, Dr. Wendy Lou, C’90, will finish her dermatology residency in June, while Wendy’s husband, Dr. Siu-sun Yao, C’87, is completing a cardiac fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in New York City. They are looking to join private practices in the greater New York area. They have one son, Christopher, who was born on September 30, 1996.

Karen Lebiedzinski Freundlich, EAS’91, in July, joined Omni Environmental Corporation in Princeton, N.J., as a senior engineer, where she specializes in water resources and computer modelling. She married Dr. Joel S. Freundlich on September 13. “We actually lived across the Charles River for four years without ever meeting. Joel was finishing his Ph.D. in chemistry at MIT and we met at a Cornell alumni happy hour in Boston in March 1996. Our wedding reception was held in a castle museum in Doylestown, Pa., and Penn alumni Sueko Kumagai, C’91, Sueann King Schorr, C’91, and Sandra Rosen, Nu’90, were in attendance. We honeymooned in Nantucket, Mass. We now live in Princeton and enjoy running, biking, and visiting Boston every chance we get.”

He is currently serving with the 2nd Military Police Company, 2nd Infantry Division, out of Camp Casey in Korea, as a 2nd-lieutenant platoon leader for 2nd-platoon “Regulators.”
Sara Farley Gibbons, C’96, is engaged to Brian Holland, EAS’96. Sara is in her second year at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and Brian is in his second year at the Medical College of Georgia. A wedding is planned for June 20 on the Pittsburgh campus, and Sara and Brian are “looking forward to seeing some Penn alums at the wedding.”
