50 Albert Eisen W’50 and Helen Ann Klein Eisen Ed’51celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 11. “We have three children, two of whom are Dr. Andrew Eisen Gr’82 M’82 and Sherri Eisen Nelson W’78. The celebration was held with the children and our eight grandchildren. Currently living in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., we travel extensively and still work with various charities.”
54 Dick Rosenbleeth W’54 L’57 has been inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. He played football at Penn during the George Munger years and at West Philadelphia High School, and coached championship football teams at Penn and Swarthmore College. A retired partner at Blank Rome LLP, where he tried cases for over 40 years, he is a fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He writes that he has held several government, bar, and community leadership positions. Today he serves as an arbitrator and mediator and as a volunteer assistant football coach at Bala Cynwyd Junior High School.

63 Richard Bartholomew C’63 GAr’65, a principal in the Philadelphia-based planning and design firm Wallace Roberts & Todd, served as principal-in-charge for two of the seven projects that received 2010 national Honor Awards for Urban Design from the American Institute of Architects. The projects are A Civic Vision for the Central Delaware riverfront in Philadelphia, where WRT’s client was PennPraxis, and the US House of Representatives Facilities Plan and South Capitol Area Plan in Washington for the Architect of the Capitol. He is currently working on the new headquarters for FEMA.

My third book, it grew out of a sabbatical in Zimbabwe in 1984 that has resulted in a long relationship with the country and several people who still live there. After Penn, I went to seminary at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Mass. Ordained a priest in 1966, I was in parishes in Akron, Ohio, Washington, Dedham, Mass., and La Jolla, Calif. Since then, my wife and I migrate between our old farmhouse in southern Vermont and, when winter threatens, La Jolla, where I am writer-in-residence at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.”

In 1999, he helped found Pure Water for the World, which provided clean water and sanitation instruction to tens of thousands of earthquake victims in Haiti. It is also heavily involved in providing those services in Honduras and El Salvador.

If our species survives another 30 years, we will look back in horror at the barbaric practices of today in clinical medicine, just as we look back in horror today at the methods used by well-intentioned physicians in Colonial times when the standard treatment for most diseases was phlebotomy. Using the best tools of the day, they bled George Washington to death and probably killed thousands of others. There are two disadvantages of being more than 90 years old: funding for research is extremely difficult to find and too many of my most distinguished colleagues and very dear friends have departed these mortal coils.”

Hank Grover C’72, Los Angeles, received a 2010 Daytime Emmy Award for stunt coordination in the television series Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, a live-action children’s series that aired on the CW network last year. He has worked as production manager, supervisor, coordinator, line producer, and assistant director for 25 feature films and for 13 years of episodic television, including three seasons on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. When I married a Frenchman, I did not at first realize to what extent I had married a new culture. Out of my own experience of adaptation I have been able to help many other Americans deal with the emotional rollercoaster of choosing to live in this beautiful country. For the past decade, I have been privileged to also work with American university students who have come to France for study-abroad programs. Students will come here excited to have the ‘time of their lives,’ and then are surprised by what I call the ‘unforeseen opportunities for emotional growth’ which await them. Most often, the students I counsel are confronting a range of emotional and mental-health issues they brought with them to France, which are then exacerbated by difficulties in adjusting to the culture. In recent years, I have included working on Skype with working in person; at first I worked on Skype for students who returned home or went to study or work in another country. Now I have expanded to work with students in different regions of France. I also have discovered that this generation, with their intense programs of study, work, and travel, sometimes prefers to work on Skype even when they are within easy travel time from Paris to my home. Christopher Mora L’99 is a lieutenant commander in the Navy JAG Corps. In June, he received the outstanding-achievement award from the Society of American Indian Government Employees, in recognition of his recent accomplishments in the area of American Indian law. A member of the Chitimacha Tribe, he reviewed its tribal code and created a legal-ethics code, a child-welfare code, and an alternate-dispute-resolution system known as a “Peacemakers Court.” In June, he also received the Army Commendation Medal “for his leadership and zealous advocacy on behalf of Army soldiers, which resulted in a change to Louisiana laws permitting military lawyers to represent low-income soldiers in state courts.”
Stephanie Sherman Older C’99 and her husband, Chad Older, welcomed daughter Tessa Susanne on May 16. She joined her proud big brother, Owen (three). They live in Bethesda, Md., where Stephanie is press chief for the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

This past year Drew published her first book, Here And Not Forgotten: Stories Of A Wiser Generation, which recounts the personal histories of eight elderly residents at the Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life in Horsham, Pa. She works for Temple University as an admissions counselor. He worked for the US Navy in Washington for two years before returning to Philadelphia, where he is a first-year student at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. They plan to wed in Elkins Park, Pa., in October next year.
