Penn President Amy Gutmann announced at the February 18 meeting of the Board of Trustees that the University had passed the $3 billion mark in its Making History capital campaign. In addition to new buildings and the ongoing development of Penn Park, the fruits of that fundraising include the establishment of 100 new faculty chairs and 600 endowed undergraduate scholarships.
“Together we are creating the most gifted and diverse student body in Penn’s history,” Gutmann said. “We are generating new kinds of knowledge to tackle society’s most complex and urgent questions, and we are building a green urban campus unlike any other.”
The $3.5 billion campaign is scheduled to conclude in December 2012.
