Take dozens of sumptuous photographs of food-related artifacts from the Penn Museum, add 80 tested recipes, and combine with a collection of cultural and culinary stories. Then publish. The resulting hardcover visual feast explores the world of food through eight cultural regions. It also represents a collaborative effort: Hickman, editor of the museum’s Expedition magazine, worked with creative director Suzanne McDevitt to develop the concept, and with the Penn Museum’s collections staff and Women’s Committee volunteers to gather the information, images, and recipes.
