Students “wage peace” in Houston Hall

In Houston Hall: A group of undergraduates calling themselves Penn Students Against War on Iraq transformed the Class of 1966 Reading Room into a “24-hour anti-war zone.” They stayed there (with the University’s permission) for about a week at the outset of the war, then cut back their presence; by the time the Gazette went to press last month, the room was still filled with anti-war signs, pamphlets, and armbands.
