Once is enough.” He ran his second at 57, after the tragic death of a staff member in his practice. Then he ran to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society; he was inspired to this as he had volunteered at City of Hope, a comprehensive cancer center in Los Angeles, practicing dentistry for young people there. It sounds dry as dust but some of the sculptures are sexy, even erotic; there’s also an article on figurative Jewish tombs in Italy, plus one on the dispersion of angel imagery throughout the world. At the moment I’m working on getting publicity and reviews for the book, which was launched in October here in London. This is the first book in English on the subject, and the initial responses have been very enthusiastic. Music to my ears!!
