London/Washington/Philadelphia:
Healthy Cities/Healthy Women Conference

After important events in Miami, New York and Los Angeles, Penn’s HEALTHY CITIES: HEALTHY WOMEN event series is headed to London, Washington, and Philadelphia. The HEALTHY CITIES: HEALTHY WOMEN events highlight the unique challenges faced by women and girls in urban areas across the globe with a focus on raising visibility and fostering solutions. Today over 3.3 billion people, more than half the world’s population, live in urban areas. The built environment of cities presents barriers to healthy living for women and girls. At the same time, women have an extraordinarily powerful role in influencing the health of their children, families and communities and offer a unique opportunity to improve cities for all. Hosted by Penn Alumni, Penn Nursing, and the Trustees’ Council of Penn Women, the upcoming dates for HEALTHY CITIES: HEALTHY WOMEN events are: London on Tues., Sept. 17; Washington on Wed., Oct. 30, and Philadelphia on Thurs. May 15, 2014. For more information: go to www.nursing.upenn.edu/healthywomen.
